Understanding the Workings of a Siphonic Roof Drainage System

Image
A roof drainage system is instrumental in enabling the flow of accumulated water from the roof and preventing seepage, water logging, etc. Conventionally, roof drainage systems are designed in a manner that there is a slope which takes the water to the lowest level, where a downpipe is positioned. This downpipe carries off the water from the roof to the ground, to a tank or a sewage line. However, traditional roof drainage systems have a fundamental problem in that they carry air along with water which prevents the system from functioning at full efficiency and only carries limited amount of water in the pipes. It is here that siphonic roof drainage systems serve advantageous.
